After our Sitio Sabang experience in Bgry. Cabayugan, we are now back to the city proper ready to end our last day in Puerto Princesa! First stop is Mitra Ranch!

This post is a part of  Puerto Princesa, Palawan: A Walk-through to the City of Living God article. Go back to the main article to see more of Puerto Princesa.

The Story

This is the 3rd installment of the so-called Puerto Princesa City Tour. Basically, the city tour includes a visit to the Immaculate Conception Cathedral, Plaza Cuartel, Baywalk, Crocodile Farm, Butterfly Garden, Baker’s Hill and Mitra’s Ranch. During our tour, we divided these places into three, one group per day during our stay at Puerto Princesa.

Check out our itinerary here.

This is our first stop from a 1 and 1/2 hour ride coming from Sitio Sabang. Make your Puerto Princesa trip unconventional! Check out: Beauty of Sitio Sabang, Palawan: The Gateway to Underground River and Exploring Sitio Sabang, Palawan: Mangrove Paddle Boat Tour.

Mitra Ranch

This farm, also called as Rancho Sta. Monica, is located on top of the hill in Sta. Monica heights that offers a stunning view of the city and islands of Honda Bay. Mitra Ranch is a family property of the late Philippine Senator Mitra. It was opened to public for several years now and has become a popular tourist destination in Palawan.

You can have a stunning view at the viewing deck.

Mitra Ranch is open from 6am to 6pm everyday. There are also several activities you can do in the area like horse back riding, ziplining, trampoline and passing a sky bridge (or what they call skywalk).  If you wanted to take pictures in the Mitra’s mansion, there is an entrance fee of P20 per person. And do take note, footwear is not allowed inside, you need to take them off.

How To Go to Mitra Ranch

Packaged/Arranged Tour. Mitra Ranch is part of the Puerto Princesa City Tour that you can get for P600/person. The tour takes half-day and you will visit the following: Immaculate Conception Cathedral, Plaza Cuartel, Baywalk, Crocodile Farm, Baker’s Hill and Mitra’s Ranch. The tour is inclusive of van transfers and entrance fees.  Another option is to take the city tour thru a DOT accredited tricycle driver for the same rate.

Aha!

DIY (Do It Yourself) Tour. We took this option again for the nth time. We are coming straight from Sabang for the underground river tour. Read it here. So from San Jose Common Terminal, we chartered a tricycle for P300 (shared by two person, P150 per person) to bring us to Mitra Ranch, Baker’s Hill and Puerto Princesa Baywalk.

Multi-cabs are available too in the city for lower fare option. Ride a cab with a signage of  Irawan and tell the driver to drop you off at Mitra Ranch/Baker’s Hill intersection and walk until you reach the ranch (or ride a tricycle, since the road is a bit steep for walking). For us, the most convenient and time-efficient way is to have an arrangement with a tricycle driver that will for wait for you and bring you to your next destination. Thanks a lot to Kuya Mario for making our 3rd day of city tour possible!   Kuya Mario Urbano – +63999356991
